Terms of use

By using ElectricalCharts you accept the terms below. They exist mainly to be clear about one thing: these tools are engineering estimates, not code compliance sign-off.

No professional advice

The charts, calculators and explanations on this site are informational engineering estimates for planning and cross-checking. They are not electrical engineering advice, not a code compliance determination, and not a substitute for the code edition adopted in your jurisdiction, equipment listings and instructions, or the judgement of a licensed electrician or engineer.

Always verify results against the applicable code and local amendments before installing, energising or modifying any electrical system.

Accuracy and assumptions

We work hard to keep values correct and we publish the formula and assumptions behind every calculated result on the methodology page. Even so, the site is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ElectricalCharts and its operators are not liable for any loss, injury, damage, cost or code violation arising from use of, or reliance on, anything published here. You are responsible for verifying every value you apply to real work.

Intellectual property

Page text, layout, calculation implementations and branding are ours. You may reference and link to pages freely, and quote short excerpts with attribution and a link. Do not republish pages wholesale or scrape the site at scale.

Standards and code documents referenced here remain the property of their publishers. We do not reproduce copyrighted code tables; we model the underlying relationships and show the formula.

Acceptable use

Do not attempt to disrupt the site, bypass advertising in an automated way, or use it for anything unlawful. We may restrict access to protect availability for other users.

Changes and contact

These terms may be updated; the current version always lives at this URL. Questions go to contact@electricalcharts.com.
